Chocolate Fruit & Nut Bark {blogmas day 15}

Friday, December 15, 2017

When it comes to the month of December, no amount of chocolate is too much and I'm a big fan of trying to think of as many ways as possible to enjoy chocolate throughout the month! I'm also the kind of person that thinks that food based gifts are often the best kinds of gifts, so this chocolate fruit and nut bark is a firm favourite of mine. With only a few ingredients, minimal effort and only a little time, you can make a bar of chocolate that looks amazing and (more importantly) tastes great! So whether you're making a treat for yourself or hand making a gift, this chocolate bark is a must-make this Christmas!

You will need:
- 200g Cadbury's Bournville
- 100g dairy free white chocolate
- 30g dried cranberries
- 30g flaked almonds

Start by lining a baking tray with greaseproof paper and placing two pans of water on the hob to boil.

As the water comes to a boil, break your chocolates into small chunks and place the dark chocolate in one heat proof bowl and the white chocolate in another.

Once the water is boiling, place each of the bowls on to a pan and leave the chocolate to melt, stirring occasionally.

When the chocolate has melted, pour the dark chocolate onto the greaseproof paper and spread to your desired consistency.

Then dollop small amounts of the white chocolate across the dark chocolate and use a knife to create a marbled effect.

Now sprinkle an even layer of almonds and cranberries on to the chocolate and place in the fridge to set.

Once the chocolate has completely hardened, it's time to smash the bark into bitesized pieces and either package as a gift or (better yet) dig in and enjoy!
